A landmark investment marks a new chapter of growth, strengthening Aermec North America’s manufacturing capabilities, commitment to sustainability, and long-term presence in the U.S. and Canadian markets.
Aermec North America proudly celebrates a defining moment in its continued growth following the official groundbreaking of its first U.S. manufacturing facility on October 8, 2026, in DeKalb, Illinois. This historic occasion marks a landmark international investment in the DeKalb region, bringing the promise of advanced manufacturing, new economic opportunities, and long-term regional development.
The planned 186,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, representing an investment exceeding $35 million, marks a major expansion of Aermec’s North American operations. Once completed, it will establish a new manufacturing presence in the United States, strengthening the company’s ability to serve the North American market and supporting its continued growth.
For Aermec’s leadership, the groundbreaking represents the culmination of a vision more than six years in the making. Giordano Reillo, President of Aermec North America, expressed immense pride in this achievement, describing it as more than the construction of a manufacturing facility, but as a bold step toward bringing Aermec’s technology, manufacturing expertise, and entrepreneurial spirit to the heart of America.
“Today marks the beginning of a new chapter for Aermec in North America,” said Luca Martini, Managing Director of Aermec North America. “For more than 20 years, Aermec has been serving customers across the U.S. and Canada. Our decision to invest in Illinois was driven by the State’s outstanding support and collaboration. We are proud to begin this journey in DeKalb and excited about what we will build together with our customers, partners, employees and the local community.”
The facility is expected to expand Aermec’s U.S. manufacturing capabilities, combining its renowned Italian engineering excellence with the flexibility to produce advanced, custom-engineered HVAC, climate control, and energy management systems in the United States. This investment will further strengthen Aermec’s ability to deliver tailored solutions that meet the complex operational requirements of large-scale commercial and industrial enterprises throughout North America, while reinforcing its commitment to energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.
Beyond its industrial significance, the investment is expected to create substantial economic opportunities for the DeKalb region. As operations expand, the facility is projected to support more than 200 full-time positions, with additional opportunities anticipated for local suppliers, service providers, and supporting industries throughout Illinois.
This milestone reflects the strength of collaboration between Italy, the United States, and Canada, uniting decades of engineering expertise with a shared vision for the future of advanced HVAC manufacturing in North America.
Aermec North America extends its appreciation to the State of Illinois, the City of DeKalb, regional economic development organizations, and the many partners whose support and collaboration helped make this achievement possible.
